I am looking to purchase a home. I have held my job for more than a year and make fairly decent money. I have also had a bank account with the same bank for nearly 2 years. Should i apply though my bank or should i look into a mortgage loan elsewhere? If so where?

Most lenders want a 2 year history of employment, but not necessarily the same employer.
Call your regular bank, a great big bank, a local bank and a credit union if you’re eligble. Ask them for rates, but don’t let them run your credit report. Do it yourself, all 3 bureaus at annualreport.com. You pay about $6 to $8 for the scores, but you do want them.
