My husband enlisted active duty into the Army last September and I keep hearing about this Servicemembers Relief Act. I hear from some people that they try it themselves and sometimes it works with lowering the interest rate on their car loans and sometimes they end up going to the JAG office to get help with it. Has anyone here ever tried it and if so did you do it yourself or go through JAG? Also, what was the outcome?

Ever had a poor credit car loan?

I have bad credit, rock bottom, and need a car so am considering applying for a bad credit car loan as I have no cosigner. Has anyone here ever had one? Did you regret it? What sort of interest rate were you paying? Thanks!

I am buying a house and looking for a loan. I put my information on Lowermybills.com and received multiple phone calls. The one that sounded the best to me was Earth Mortgage. They are at about 6.25 for a 5/1 arm interest only. This is above bankrate.com’s rate, but I still feel uncomfortable. They have all BBB licenses, my loan officer is licensed in the state of texas, and they have a special award from Lendingtree.com if you look them up on that website. I usually have no problem doing business online, but when my loan officer at home(who was doing the loan) warns me about online companies, I am weary. In reference to most of those bait and switch remarks I will most likely get. They are trying to lock me in so I do not have to worry about the rate changing. In order to lock in the rate, I have to put a deposit on my appraisal fee of $360. Please advise, and thank you for any responses.

I of course refused to help him darnit.
Here’s the story a few years back an aquaintance (he came with a co-worker of mine to a party) stole some money from me. The other day he came up to me asking if I would cosign a car loan for him. Turns out he is a child-molester now too. Of course I researched that, but who else thinks that cosigning is stupid and that child molesters are the scum of the earth?
