Do they convert a ARM loan to fixed? Do they just lengthen the term of the existing loan? Does the home owner have any choices on terms?

I have a first and second mortgage that is more than the appraised value of my condo. I tried to refinance and now am asking the mortgage company for a loan modification. What is the criteria needed to receive a loan modification?

wat happens if ur uneployment benefits are over and hve no job……….how long do u get to keep the house?

My townhouse was purchased at $289,000.00 with a 1st interest only and a second. I have been past due for 7 months now and received the notice of default. I just received a notice from the county that my property is now worth $50,000.00. Is it too late to request a loan modification at the current value?

In 2009 I sent $3,500 to a loan modification company that was suppose to get my home loan modified. Unfortunately for me the company stole my money, went out of business and I never got my home loan modified.
Can I write off the money used to modify my loan? If so, where would it fall under on my 1040?

I have lost my job and am now working as a cashier at a grocery store. The problem is that my new salary is not enough to cover the mortgage.
