My fiance declared bankruptcy about 4 years ago, and I have had been enrolled in a credit counseling service to pay off personal debt (I will be finished paying it off this year). Both of our credit scores are slightly under 670. We want to start looking for a home in about a year, and will be able to put down about 20%, but we are concerned about getting approved for a mortgage. Anyone who can share any knowledge about this would be appreciated!

I’ve been making payments to her and I want to pay off the rest of the loan. I don’t know what kind of loan I should take out to pay her the rest of the money. Do I need to take out a mortgage or a 2nd mortgage, a home equity loan or a personal loan to pay my friend back?

I am not talking about a great interest rate loan, but just baseline, what credit score do I need to qualify for a loan at all? Due to some student loan troubles over the last 12 months, my credit score plummetted into the 500s (from around 700), but I make 6 figures with minimal debt so I’m wondering where I need my credit score to be before I can even consider a mortgage.

I am in the process of buying a home that is not yet built, but we have already opened escrow on the house and provided our pay stubs, bank accounts and history, tax forms, credit and everything. We are scheduled to close in November and it looks like we have started signing some closing documents but not all. Will I need to provide new pay stubs and bank histories and everything else again, or will they just re run our credit at the close?

I am extremely nervous about having my home loan with Countrywide. I do not want them to come back and tell me that the modification they gave me is no longer valid. I have an ARM loan and am looking to refinance. Countrywide denied me for a refinance because I had two late payments in two years. Please help. I really want to find a company with a better track record and reputation.

I wont to buy an old truck with plow. I need a loan of $3000.00 only but every on line car loan company says I have to buy a truck from them but there asking more than I wont to spend. My credit is poor but I have probably $80k in equity in my home. Will a bank refuse to approve a home equity loan because of bad credit?

I’m thinking about applying for a home equity loan or line of credit for my home but am discouraged by my below average credit score. To refinance, any and all applicants must also be on the title document, so would the same rules apply on a home equity loan or line of credit?
