I talked over the phone this morning with a loan officer with a bank and I faxed him all the paperwork he said he needed. He did say that if he needed anything else that he would call me and then that he would call me to let me know if I was approved.
Oddly enough he told me how much my payments would be a month….is that a good sign?
How do they verify your income if it is social security? Do they go off the letter of award that I got from social security?
So..how long till I know if I am pre-approved?
G-Man
I am guessing now that it is not a pre-approval, because he asked for all my verification forms to be faxed to him today. (Income and banking statements from my current bank.) I think he pre-approved me based on my waiting an 80/20 loan and having a credit score of 589. And I am sure that he said that he would call me to tell me if I was approved or not…so even if I was denied he would call me. My current bank says I am fine and should get a loan.

My TransUnion credit score is 732, my credit is good, been at my job for 2 1/2 years now, my car is paid off and I have debt under $5,000 which will be paid off this year. I’m looking for a home in the price range of $100k-$120k and I will have a down of at least $20k. Also, I will be a first time home buyer. I’m scared.

I want to start looking into buying a home, but I plan on changing jobs in June but not moving in untill August or later. I’m getting my degree and starting my career is the reason for the job change. Will this effect my preapproval?

I want to see how much I can get approved for online for a new car loan. Places like HSBC.com offer online to get you approved for an amount and interest rate. I’m just wondering if this will lower my credit score just like if a few car dealerships inquires will….

My husband and I are preapproved for a home loan scheduled to close in about 45 days. We are currently late on a credit card payment because we put down “earnest” money for our new home. We are going to make a payment to get current on all of our credit cards this week. Our loan officer said she will wait until we are current before submitting our final info to the mortgage lender. Are we likely to be denied the loan as a result of late credit card payments so close to closing?

Should I go to the bank (BOA) I already have an account with? Or a specialized lender that does home loans specifically? also, how long does preapproval stay valid? Will I have to reapply if I wait too long before purchasing?

I live in Waukesha WI. I make $2500/month. I have $30,000 in student loans that I pay $400/month. I have a Motorcycle payment of $100/month. I just started a new job and have 2 degrees from Milwaukee School of Engineering that relate to this job. I am 23 years old trying to buy my first home. I have good credit. Do you think I will be pre-approved by a lender?

I am seriously looking into getting preapproved for a home loan, but have no idea where to start. I just cleaned up my credit so its looking pretty sweet right now and I want to lock in a good rate while its good.

There are several real estate offices here a few have homes I’m interested in but one of the first questions is whether or not I’m pre approved for a home loan. Do I need to start the process with EACH real estate office? Or will one do and go from there? Thank you.
